Rain starting at 5:30 PM<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Perfect weather for dickey-bird hunting!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So i spent the morning scouring every spruce tree and willow bush that I could find.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To no avail!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I visited the High School Spuices (Naumann&#8217;s Thrush site) three times today. So it was a two-falcon day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the afternoon, I headed to Clam Lagoon and walked the Peninsula and Marsh Edge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Peninsula was birdless, but as I was walking from the Peninsula across the flats towards the south end of the Marsh Edge, three shorebirds flew in and landed nearby.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Two plovers and a dowitcher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"504\" src=\"https:\/\/franklinhaas.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/LongBilledDowitcher_09252022.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2048\" srcset=\"https:\/\/franklinhaas.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/LongBilledDowitcher_09252022.jpg 600w, https:\/\/franklinhaas.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/LongBilledDowitcher_09252022-300x252.jpg 300w, https:\/\/franklinhaas.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/LongBilledDowitcher_09252022-357x300.jpg 357w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><figcaption>Long-billed Dowitcher, Clam Lagoon, Sept 25, 2022<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The dowitcher was much more colorful than the three I saw in the 18th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I believe this was a juvenile, while the others were winter adults.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The plovers were in different plumages. Examination of their photos show it to be a different one from the one we had on the 18th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I did not see it today. Being at the right place at the right time.
