It was raining at the time, so I didn&#8217;t get out of the truck to get closer for a photo. We tried again later, but they were gone. Year bird number 94!<\/p>\n<p>At Contractor&#8221;s Camp Marsh, a Peregrine flew overhead. As I was straining to photograph it straight up, I saw small birds flying overhead as well. They were Redpolls &#8212; about 30-40 of them. Today there was just a shitload of gull shit!<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1805\" style=\"width: 810px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/franklinhaas.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/GullShit.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1805\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1805\" src=\"https:\/\/franklinhaas.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/GullShit.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"540\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1805\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Breaches<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The other day, while walking the clam Lagoon mud flats, I found these tracks.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1807\" style=\"width: 810px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/franklinhaas.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/Rat09252017.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1807\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1807\" src=\"https:\/\/franklinhaas.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/Rat09252017.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"625\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1807\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Rat Tracks, Clam Lagoon mud flats<\/p><\/div>\n<p>They were about a hundred yards out on the flats!<\/p>\n<p>And &#8212; speaking of rats &#8212; I have been setting a trap for rats next to our &#8220;feeder&#8221; behind the house (caught 3 so far!) to protect our seed. Occasionally, the trap is triggered, but no catch. It had triggered last night, but I didn&#8217;t bother resetting it this morning.
